Financial safety comes first
Never send money, share bank or card details, buy gift cards, or make an "investment" for anyone you have met on Unfiltered. Romance scams almost always start with a fast emotional connection followed by a request for money. It doesn't matter how genuine they sound. Stop the conversation and report the account.
Take conversations at your pace
- You don't have to reveal your photos, phone number, home address or workplace to talk to someone.
- Voice notes and chats can happen inside Unfiltered for as long as you like.
- If someone pressures you to move to another app immediately, treat that as a red flag.
Meeting in person
- Pick a public place — a café, a bar, a busy park.
- Get yourself there and back independently, at least the first time.
- Tell a friend where you're going and when you expect to be home. Share your live location if you can.
- Don't leave your drink unattended. Don't post live location to strangers online.
- You can leave at any moment for any reason. You never owe anyone a second date.
How to report someone
On any profile or conversation, tap the menu in the top right and choose Report. You can block someone at the same time — blocking is silent and immediate. Blocked people cannot see you or reach you.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. For safeguarding concerns involving anyone under 18 or a vulnerable adult, we work with authorities directly — email [TERRY TO SUPPLY: safety@… email].
If something has already happened
You are not to blame. Please consider contacting a local support service. In the UK, Victim Support (victimsupport.org.uk) can help; equivalents exist in most countries. [TERRY TO SUPPLY: regional support-line list.]
